Love him or hate him, Kanye West is a trendsetter. Over the years, Kanye’s influence has grown tremendously and in no place is it more evident than the sneaker world. Colorways bearing any resemblance to a Kanye shoe are quickly labeled as the “Yeezy” version by the sneaker community. A perfect example of the Kanye effect is the Nike Air Max 1 FB Yeezy from 2013. Released alongside a similarly colored Roshe Run, this Nike Air Max 1 featured an upper that used a combination of black, Fresh Mint, and Pink Flash. The sneakerhead community might have labeled these Yeezys – which is better than the “Blink” nickname that first surfaced due to the black and pink combination -- but the FB in the name actually stands for futbol.
